Women in media are underrepresented behind and in front of the camera. Now Karleen Leveille and a new program is ready to change it!
Northshore Television has hired Karleen Leveille to launch their Women in Technology training program. Women in Technology is a free certificate course developed to bring women from all nationalities and socio -economic backgrounds together to produce and develop innovative television and digital programs. At the Northshore Television studio, women train in one of two state of the art television studios, learn to operate video equipment, create, direct, edit and produce shows to be aired on broadcast television and other digital platforms. This free program runs for 8 sessions.
In addition to instructing the program, Karleen will develop the curriculum in addition to recruiting participants and potential sponsors.
“I know what it is like to work in a male dominated industry and not have the network and support to succeed. This program will give women the necessary hutzpah and knowledge to thrive in all facets of media from technical equipment use, producing, and directing” said Karleen. “I am honored to help lay the foundation to their careers through this innovative, interactive, and creative program. I am also grateful that Northshore Television and its Executive Director, Erica Bradley trusts me to do it!” said Karleen. The program runs annually at the station and is open to all female identifying individuals.
